asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he can state the fees taken in addition to their salaries by each of the Attorney-Generals and Solicitor-Generals who have occupied office since 1918?

I would refer the hon. Member to the letter addressed by the Department to the Town Clerk of Rother- ham on 17th June, of which, I am sending him a copy. The letter is printed in yesterday's OFFICIAL REPORT, cols. 1650-2. A deputation from the Rotherham Town Council was received yesterday at the Ministry of Labour and the whole position is being further considered at a meeting of the council to-morrow. At the request of the deputation my right hon. Friend has agreed to suspend putting his decision into operation until the council have notified him of the result of their meeting.
