HC Deb 12 July 1932 vol 268 c1104
37. Mr. PERKINS

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is aware that the imports of cider for May, 1931, and May, 1932, have increased from 24,530 gallons to 110,385 gallons; and whether he will make representations to the Tariff Advisory Committee in respect of these imports?

Sir J. GILMOUR

While it is true that imports of cider and perry in May, 1932, were much heavier than in May, 1931, total imports for the current year to date are not very greatly in excess of those for the corresponding period of 1931. It is open to the interests immediately concerned to make representations to the Tariff Advisory Committee.
