HC Deb 11 July 1932 vol 268 c899
76. Mr. MABANE

asked the Minister of Transport whether, seeing that the rights to compensation in the case of injury or death are more restricted in the case of a road accident than in the case of a railway accident, he will take steps to secure that the rights in the matter are equalised?

The MINISTER of TRANSPORT (Mr. Pybus)

The rights to compensation are, so far as I am aware, the same in both cases.

Mr. GUY

Is it not the case that railway companies frequently contract out of liability for negligence when issuing cheap tickets, whereas motor omnibus companies never do so?

Mr. PYBUS

I think that is substantially correct.
