HC Deb 08 July 1932 vol 268 cc867-8

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this House do now adjourn."— [Captain, Margesson.]

Mr. THOMAS

I feel sure that the House will be pleased to learn that we have received a telephone message from the Prime Minister saying that an agreement has been reached at Lausanne. The terms will appear to-morrow, and, although we have not details, I felt that, the Prime Minister having communicated this information, the House would like to be the first to hear the good news.

Mr. LANSBURY

I want to join in saying that all of us are very glad indeed to hear the news. We hope very much that, whatever the settlement is, it is the commencement of a new era of real, true and abiding friendship between the French and the German nations.

Adjourned accordingly at Nine Minutes after Three o'Clock.
