HC Deb 07 July 1932 vol 268 c621
13. Mr. KIRKWOOD (for Mr. McGOVERN)

asked the Home Secretary why he has issued instructions to officials in his Department to make calls on Mr. G. S. Dara, Congress secretary and editor of "United India," for the purpose of inspection of his passport?

Mr. STANLEY

My right hon. Friend has issued no such instructions. I understand that a suggestion had arisen that Mr. Dara's passport was not in order, and an interview was sought by a police officer as the simplest and most expeditious method of clearing up the point; but Mr. Dara declined to make an appointment.
