§ 27. Mr. McKEAG
asked the Secretary for Mines if he will, at an early date, make a statement as to the results of research in regard to the low-temperature 230 carbonisation and hydrogenation processes of dealing with coal?
§ Mr. ISAAC FOOT
As was stated by my right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council on the 23rd September last in reply to a question by the former Member for Pontefract (Mr. T. Smith), the Government decided to continue with the scheme which had been adopted by the previous Government for research into low-temperature carbonisation and hydrogenation, but in a somewhat modified form. The plant then decided upon is still in course of erection.
