HC Deb 29 February 1932 vol 262 c775
50. Mr. CONANT

asked the Minister of Labour the number of married women who have been refused benefit, under the anomalies regulations, at the Chesterfield Employment Exchange; and the number of married women who have ceased to register for work since their benefits were refused?

Sir H. BETTERTON

Up to 30th January, 1932, 544 claims by married women were disallowed by the Chesterfield Court of Referees, under the Anomalies Regulations, Class (d). As regards the second part of the question the numbers of married women on the register of the Chesterfield Employment Exchange were 496 on 19th October and 98 on 25th January, but I cannot tell how far this drop was due to disallowance of benefit and how far to other causes.
