HC Deb 16 February 1932 vol 261 c1455
54. Captain CROOKSHANK

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office whether, as the result of incidents at Shanghai, there have been any alteration in the arrangements for the trooping season; and, if so, what?

Mr. COOPER

Yes, Sir. The 1st battalion, The East Lancashire Regiment, which was to have relieved the 1st battalion, The Royal Welch Fusiliers, in the Sudan, will proceed to Shanghai in order that the 2nd battalion, The Royal Scots Fusiliers, at present retained there, may return to the United Kingdom. The relief of the 1st battalion, The Royal Welch Fusiliers, in the Sudan will be arranged by anticipating the move of the 1st battalion Coldstream Guards, which would in the normal course have proceeded to Egypt next trooping season. The 1st battalion, Coldstream Guards, will accordingly leave for the Sudan next month.
