asked the President of the Board of Trade the number of public companies which on 2nd February were in default in their obligations to lodge annual reports and balance sheets for the year 1931 in accordance with the provisions of Section 110 of the Companies Act of 1929?

The number of public companies having a share capital which were in default in respect of their annual returns under Section 110 of the Companies Act, 1929, on 2nd February was 1,906. By the 13th February 444 of these had filed their annual returns.
