HC Deb 09 February 1932 vol 261 c668
82. Mr. McENTEE

asked the President of the Board of Education how many local education authorities are providing milk for school children, excluding National Milk Publicity Council schemes; and the number of children supplied with milk through the National Milk Publicity Council schemes at the latest convenient date?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Ramsbotham)

During the week ending the 23rd January last, 81 local education authorities in England and Wales were providing milk for school children under Sections 82 to 85 of the Education Act, 1921. My right hon. Friend understands from the National Milk Publicity Council that about 890,000 children are receiving milk under their schemes.
