§ Sir S. HOAREThe Indian Ecclesiastical Establishment is maintained primarily in order to provide religious ministrations to British troops and their families in India. The annual cost of the Establishment during the last five years has been roughly £300,000. This figure includes expenditure on the upkeep of churches.
