asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that the revenue is being seriously affected by the high duties on beer, he will consider the advisability of taking steps to adjust the duties before the date of the next Budget?

While I must not be taken as accepting my hon. and gallant Friend's premise the situation is being carefully watched, and although I cannot undertake to adopt his suggestion, I can assure him that the matter will receive full consideration in connection with the next Budget.
