HC Deb 21 December 1932 vol 273 c1087
37. Mr. GROVES (for Mr. LAWSON)

asked the Minister of Health whether he has now received the report of the Newcastle-on-Tyne Dispensary, in which it is reported that the committee are gravely concerned about the great increase in poverty, sickness, and malnutrition among the poorest classes of the city; and what action he proposes to take in the matter?

Mr. SHAKESPEARE

The report relates to the year ended the 31st December, 1931. My right hon. Friend has thought it well to bring the report to the notice of the City Council and to invite their observations upon it. The nature of the evidence upon which the report in question is based needs careful consideration and scrutiny.
