HC Deb 21 December 1932 vol 273 c1081
58. Mr. LEONARD (for Mr. PRICE)

asked the Secretary for Mines if his attention has been drawn to the efforts being made by German coal interests to obtain control of the Swedish coal market; and whether steps are being taken to protect British interests in Sweden?

Mr. E. BROWN

Yes, Sir, I have seen a statement in the Press and I am having inquiries made as to its accuracy.

Mr. MARTIN

Can the hon. Member say whether our exports to Sweden have increased or decreased during the last 12 months, and whether Germany's exports have been increased?

Mr. BROWN

That does not arise on this question, but, if the hon. Member will put the question down, I will give him an answer.
