HC Deb 15 December 1932 vol 273 c488
3. Mr. GRAHAM WHITE

asked the Minister of Labour to what extent use is being made of the special Employment Exchange for the hotel and catering industry?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Henry Betterton)

Since its opening in November, 1930, the Exchange has, up to the 24th October, 1932, filled 48,215 vacancies. The substantial use made of this Exchange by employers both in London and elsewhere and its success in filling a great variety of vacancies shows, I think, that it meets a definite need and is of material assistance both to employers and workpeople in the industry.
