asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has received any reports indicating that progress is being made in the teaching of English in Cyprus or Malaya or Palestine?

I have received no special reports regarding the teaching of English in Cyprus, Malaya and Palestine, but the annual reports of the education departments of these territories show that satisfactory progress is being made.

Can the right hon. Gentleman inform the House whether any progress is being made in the teaching of current English in the United States of America
