§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAThe Bank of England in relation to its private customers is in the same position as any other bank, and I have no information respecting the accounts of those customers.
§ Mr. THORNEDoes the hon. Gentleman not think it is time now that these unclaimed balances held by the Bank were handed over to the State?
§ Mr. HORE-BELISHAA Select Committee of this House in 1919 did review this question and came to the conclusion that these balances were of no great concern.
