HC Deb 12 December 1932 vol 273 cc12-3
17. Colonel WEDGWOOD

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has yet had any information from His Majesty's Minister in Warsaw as to the continued anti-Jewish excesses in Poland?

Mr. EDEN

According to reports from His Majesty's Ambassador at Warsaw the disturbances originated in the murder of a Polish medical student in Lemberg, as a result of a drunken brawl. The situation in Lemberg and in the other towns in Poland in which attacks subsequently took place on Jewish persons and shops is now almost normal, and further trouble is not anticipated.

Colonel WEDGWOOD

Is it normal to murder Jews in Poland?

Sir A. KNOX

Has the hon. Member no information in regard to anti-Christian excesses in Russia?
