§ 41. Captain SOTHERON-ESTCOURT (for Mr. ALEXANDER RAMSAY)asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many applications have been made to the Import Duties Advisory Board for drawback under Section 9 of the Finance Act, 1932; and how many such drawbacks have been granted?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI understand from the Advisory Committee that, including cases which have been definitely rejected and those which are still being investigated in relation to the stringent conditions laid down in Section 9, the total number of applications up to the present has been 27, a substantial proportion of them being of very recent date. No scheme under the Section has yet been brought into force.
