§ 19. Mr. GLOSSOPasked the Minister of Health if he is aware that the draft town-planning scheme of the Doncaster Rural District Council schedules 8,071 acres of rich agricultural land all in a ring fence as being unsuitable for the erection of houses since it does not exceed 25 feet above ordnance datum; that with the potential revival of agriculture more cottages will be required for agricultural labourers in the locality; and whether he will take steps to see that cottages for agricultural labourers are exempt from the conditions of the scheme?
§ Sir H. YOUNGThe Doncaster Rural District Council have not yet submitted to me their town planning proposals and I am not aware of the proposal referred to. My hon. Friend may rest assured that any proposal likely to restrict the provision of cottages for agricultural workers will receive my careful consideration.
§ Mr. GLOSSOPWill it be possible for my right hon. Friend to communicate with the district council in view of the expense to which landowners and farm occupiers have been put now that the scheme has been advertised?
§ Sir H. YOUNGI can take no action under the Statute until, in due course, the scheme is put up to me.
