HC Deb 28 April 1932 vol 265 c552
5. Mr. LAWSON

asked the Minister of Labour if he has yet carried out his investigation into the conditions of labour prevailing among workers in cinemas; and, if so, whether he is satisfied with such wages and conditions?

Mr. HUDSON

Owing to shortage of available staff, it has not been possible recently to make any further progress with this inquiry.

Mr. LAWSON

Is it the intention to continue the investigation?

Mr. HUDSON

I cannot give any definite pledge at the moment, but it is one of the matters which will come up for consideration shortly.

Mr. LAWSON

Will the hon. Member bear in mind that very grave charges have been made concerning the conditions?
