YOUNGThe total numbers of men, women and children in receipt of poor relief in England and Wales on the last Saturday in March, 1931, and March, 1932 (including casuals and persons in receipt of domiciliary medical relief) were 1,055,591 and 1,219,875, respectively. The figures do not include rate-aided patients in mental hospitals.
