HC Deb 28 April 1932 vol 265 cc564-5
41. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Minister of Agriculture if his attention has been called to the hardship caused to farmers and agricultural labourers by the delay in dealing with the barley, bacon and meat industries; and if he will announce at an early date steps to be taken to assist these branches of agriculture?

Sir J. GILMOUR

My hon. and gallant Friend may rest assured that the important branches of agriculture to which he draws attention are receiving my earnest consideration. I am not, however, in a position to add anything to statements I have already made on the subject.

Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that the delay has resulted in a good many bankruptcies in Lincolnshire?

Mr. T. WILLIAMS

Can the right hon. Gentleman say whether the producers of meat, bacon and barley have done anything to help themselves on a co-operative basis?
