The UNDERSECRETARY of STATE for FOREIGN AFFAIRS (Mr. Eden)

The contribution of His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom to the League of Nations, including the International Labour Organisation, for 1931 amounted to 3,225,042.12 gold francs, the sterling equivalent of which was £127,908 0s. 9d.

Sir N. GRATTAN-DOYLE: Can my

hon. Friend say what proportion that amount bears to the total expenditure?

Mr. EDEN

I will endeavour to do so if my hon. Friend will give me notice of the question.

Mr. HANNON

Does the amount include the salary or proportion of the salary of the head of the International Labour Bureau who has insulted this country in the last few days?

Mr. MANDER

Are we not spending 1,000 times as much on preparation for war?
