HC Deb 26 April 1932 vol 265 cc197-8
23. Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAY

asked the Financial Secretary to the War Office if he is aware that electric light bulbs of foreign manufacture have been in stalled in certain barracks at Aldershot recently by the Royal Engineers; and whether he will consider the desirability of using British rather than foreign bulbs in future?

Mr. COOPER

The Army contracts pro vide for the supply of British-made electric lamps only, and therefore the use of foreign-made lamps should be precluded. If, however, my hon. Friend will furnish me with details regarding the cases which he has in mind, I will cause investigations to be made.
