§ 77. Mr. JOELasked the Minister of Transport in how many cases railway companies have yet made use of Section 25 of the Road Traffic Act, which gives power for the prohibition of the use of bridges by motor vehicles on the ground that the weight-carrying limit of such bridges is limited; and if he will state what is the estimate of his Department as to the number of railway bridges in the country carrying road traffic which will only bear a weight of five tons or less?
§ Mr. PYBUSSection 25 of the Road Traffic Act, 1930, is not yet in force though the powers conferred upon railway companies by that Section do not differ in substance from those which they possessed before the passing of that Act. I have not the information to enable me to give my hon. Friend the estimate for which he asks.
