HC Deb 21 April 1932 vol 264 cc1627-8
26. Dr. CLAYTON

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that it is contemplated to remove the office of collector of taxes from Hoy-lake to Birkenhead; and whether, when coming to a decision on this matter, he will take into consideration the inconvenience that would be caused to residents?

Major ELLIOT

The reorganisation of the tax collection arrangements for the Wirral peninsula (which includes the areas of Hoylake and Birkenhead) is at present under consideration but no immediate change in existing arrangements is in contemplation. In this as in all other changes in Income Tax areas the convenience of taxpayers affected will receive the fullest consideration.
