Resolved, That, for the purpose of any Act of the present Session relating to Finance, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any expenditure incurred on account of annual allowances by way of compensation granted to collectors of taxes (including collectors of land tax) in England and Northern Ireland in cases where—

  1. (a) the collector's appointment as such is determined after the commencement of the said Act; and
  2. (b) the collector held his appointment as such on the thirty-first day of July, nineteen hundred and thirty-one, and has continued to hold the appointment up to the commencement of the said Act."— (King's Recommendation signified.)—[Major Elliot.]
