asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies (1) what action the Ceylon Government has taken, or proposes to take in the near furture, to carry out the recommendations made by Mr. Justice Garvin in the report of the Prison Inquiry Commission, 1931;

(2) what disciplinary action has been taken in respect of the four prison officials who were proved, by evidence placed before Mr. Justice Garvin in the course of his inquiry, to have assaulted the prisoner Balasuriya while in prison?
