asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what were the total amounts expended in Scotland on police in the financial years 1912–13 and 1930–31, respectively?

During the years Ended the 15th May, 1913, and the 15th May, 1931, the total net expenditure on police in Scotland amounted to £651,790 and £2,172,335 respectively, of which £220,000 and £1,090,644 respectively was defrayed by Exchequer Grant.
