HC Deb 11 April 1932 vol 264 cc540-1
28. Mr. HANNON

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department if His Majesty's Government will be directly associated with the organisation of the British Industrial Exhibition at Copenhagen in September next; and if any decision has yet been reached on the measure of support to be given to this project?

Mr. COLVILLE

As my hon. Friend may be aware, the British Exhibition to be held in Copenhagen, commencing on 24th September, comprises an Industrial Exhibition and an Industrial Art Exhibition to be held simultaneously. While, apart from certain small incidental expenses, His Majesty's Government are incurring no financial commitment, both exhibitions have received their full approval and support. The Federation of British Industries are acting as the official agents in this country for the industrial Exhibition, and are taking steps to ensure that the exhibition receives the support of British commercial and industrial interests, while my Department is actively co-operating in the selection and assembly of suitable exhibits for the Industrial Art Exhibition.
