HC Deb 05 April 1932 vol 264 cc15-6
30. Mr. PARKINSON

asked the Prime Minister whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce legislation this Session to nationalise mining royalties?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

This is one of the matters which the Government will have to consider in relation to the other problems of the mining industry as soon as they are in a position to do so. There is in any case no likelihood of legislation on the subject this Session.

Mr. MAXTON

Will the Prime Minister take steps to make the most recent legislation on the mining question effective before he considers the introduction of any fresh legislation?
