HC Deb 28 September 1931 vol 257 cc21-2
25. Mr. DAY

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he is considering and is prepared to recommend some form of assistance for the relief of agricultural depression among British farmers?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given by the Prime Minister on 14th September last to a question by my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Buckrose (Major Braithwaite) of which I am sending him a copy.

Mr. DAY

Has any further decision been arrived at since the answer was given?

Sir J. GILMOUR

No, Sir.

Mr. HANNON; Can my right hon. Friend say whether, before the House rises, he will be in a position to make any statement in relation to the policy of the forthcoming National Government relating to agriculture?

Sir J. GILMOUR

That question must obviously be addressed to another quarter.
