Sir H. YOUNGThere is no such intention at present. But if (as in the case of the textile section) representations in favour of such a scheme were made by an industry, they would he considered.
§ Mr. KELLYIs the right hon. Gentleman considering the retaining of this work in the hands of the Government Exhibitions Department rather than handing it over to private persons?
Sir H. YOUNGThe arrangements for the fair are made with the co-operation of industry. The Department in these matters falls in with the desires of the industry in question.
§ Mr. KELLYDoes the right hon. Gentleman consider it advisable that these private trusts, although connected with industry, should be entrusted with the allotting of space instead of having control of all this exhibition work in the hands of the Government?
Sir H. YOUNGThere is no such control. The arrangements are made in accordance with the wishes of the particular industry in order to secure the best possible services for the industry concerned.
