§ Sir D. MACLEANIn reply to the first part of the question, I would refer the hon. Member to my answer, of which I am sending him a copy, to a question asked by the hon. Member for Middleton and Prestwich (Sir N. Stewart Sandeman) on the 16th instant. The answer to the second part is in the affirmative. The terms of engagement and conditions of pension of the two classes differ materially in a number of respects.
