HC Deb 21 September 1931 vol 256 c1261
51. Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

asked the Prime Minister if the adoption of a quota system for agriculture is being or has been considered by the committee set up to consider the balance of trade?

The PRIME MINISTER (Mr. Ramsay MacDonald)

My hon. and gallant Friend may rest assured that no relevant and practical suggestions will be overlooked in considering the question of the balance of trade.

Lieut.-Colonel HENEAGE

In view of the condition of agriculture, would it not be well for the Government to get on with the task of balancing trade?
