HC Deb 05 October 1931 vol 257 c791
23. Mr. EDE

asked the Minister of Agriculture if any reduction in the proposed admission fee to Kew Gardens will be made in the cases of classes of school children and other conducted educational parties?

Sir J. GILMOUR

I have been reviewing this matter since the hon. Member for Islington, East (Mrs. Manning) made a similar inquiry in a supplementary question on 1st October. As the result of further examination, I am arranging for the free admission of school children in charge of teachers on all days except students' days, provided an admission voucher is obtained by written application to the Director of the Gardens. On students' days, the normal charge, which is 6d. for parties up to 12, will be made.
