§ Sir H. BETTERTONAt 14th September, 1931, there were 15,978 persons resident in the Metropolitan Borough of Islington on the registers of Employment Exchanges. The number of persons receiving transitional benefit resident in that borough is not available, but at 21st September there were 2,270 such persons on the registers of the Holloway and King's Cross Exchanges.
§ 34. Mr. TOM SMITHasked the Minister of Labour how many applications for unemployment benefit have been disallowed by the courts of referees at Pontefract, Castleford, and Goole during the past three months, and the reasons for such disallowance?
