HC Deb 30 November 1931 vol 260 c762
63. Mr. FLANAGAN

asked the Postmaster-General whether the official radio service from Rugby involves any charge to the taxpayer; and, if so, which Department is responsible for the expenditure of the money?

Sir K. WOOD

The official news messages transmitted from the Rugby wireless station are compiled by the Foreign Office, and that Department pays the Post Office for the work of transmission. The cost therefore falls upon the Foreign Office Vote.
