HC Deb 30 November 1931 vol 260 cc761-2
59. Mr. FLANAGAN

asked the Postmaster-General whether in the interests of economy and in view of the depreciated sterling, he is taking all possible steps to ensure that British mails are sent by British boats?

Sir K. WOOD

The answer is in the affirmative.

Mr. A. M. SAMUEL

Are we to understand that it is proposed to repeat the practice of sending British mails by German boats which touch at Southampton?

Sir K. WOOD

I would like my hon. Friend to study my reply to the question on the Paper.

Mr. FLANAGAN

Is there to be any charge for sorting?
