HC Deb 30 November 1931 vol 260 c759
55. Mr. PETHERICK

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether in view of the import of foreign-caught fish into Cornish and other ports and the effect of this upon the livelihood of Cornish and other British fishermen, he will consider the question of affording some form of protection to the British fishing industry?

Sir J. GILMOUR

The question is under consideration, but I am not in a position to make a statement on the subject.
