HC Deb 30 November 1931 vol 260 cc743-4
29. Mr. HANNON

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department whether he will indicate the measures that are being adopted to secure adequate representation of British manufactures at the forthcoming Amsterdam exhibition in April, 1932?

Major COLVILLE

An organisation representing British and Dutch interests is responsible for the promotion of the forthcoming Anglo-Dutch Exhibition in Amsterdam in March-April of next year. His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales has consented to be the honorary Patron of this exhibition. The Department of Overseas Trade, in addition to rendering all possible assistance to ensure the adequate representation of British manufactures, has accepted space for the installation of an inquiry bureau. I understand that the Federation of British Industries and the National Union of Manufacturers will be similarly, represented.

Mr. HANNON

Will my hon. and gal-land Friend make any arrangement for shipping companies to give special facilities for transport from this country to Amsterdam?

Major COLVILLE

I will note my hon. Friend's suggestion.
