HC Deb 30 November 1931 vol 260 c732
7. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the Secretary of State for India if any further progress has been made concerning the proposal to refer to an independent tribunal the matter in dispute between the Government of India and His Majesty's Government respecting the payment of capitation charges?

Sir S. HOARE

The matter is engaging the attention of His Majesty's Government.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Can the right hon. Gentleman say when it is likely to reach any results?

Sir S. HOARE

No. As the hon. Member no doubt knows, it is a very complicated question. No undue delay has taken place, but it is a question that must take some time.
