HC Deb 24 November 1931 vol 260 c196
17. Mr. RAMSDEN

asked the President of the Board of Trade what action he has taken with regard to the recent increases in French import duties which discriminate against British products and manufactures?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply which was given on this subject yesterday by the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department to my hon. Friend the Member for Morpeth (Mr. G. Nicholson).

Mr. RAMSDEN

In the event of the French Government adopting an unreasonable attitude, will the right hon. Gentleman take steps to impose additional duties on French wines and other goods?
