Mr. LLEWELLYN-JONESasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury what steps have recently been taken by his Department to dispose of the remainder of His Majesty's factory at Queensferry, Flintshire; and whether, having regard to the demand by industrial firms for sites for works, and also the large amount of available labour in the district, he will take all possible measures to give the public information as to the suitability of this property?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINAbout 200 acres of this property have been disposed of. The residue of about 60 acres was offered at a public auction last June without a sale resulting. It was re-advertised last week, and every effort is being made to dispose of it. Particulars of the property are readily available locally; they may also be obtained from the Lands Directorate of the War Office.
