§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe answers to the first and second parts of the question are 56 and 46, respectively; in addition to-the 46 convictions five cases were dealt with under the Probation of Offenders Act. The total amounts of costs recovered and fines imposed in all the cases were £445 8s.1d. and £439?s., respectively. The total cost incurred by the Department, including travelling expenses of witnesses, was approximately £550.
