HC Deb 23 November 1931 vol 260 c40
53. Mr. HANLEY

asked the Postmaster-General whether he can make a statement as to the present position in relation to the establishment of an overseas broadcasting station?

Sir K. WOOD

The British Broadcasting Corporation have recently announced their intention to proceed with the erection of a short-wave station from which an Empire broadcasting service will be given. Details of the service to be provided have not yet been settled. The station will be at Daventry, and the corporation state that its construction will begin shortly.
