HC Deb 18 November 1931 vol 259 c832
12. Sir BERTRAM FALLE

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will extend to Royal Navy petty officers and men the opportunity of serving as police in His Majesty's dockyards and Government establishments?

Sir B. EYRES MONSELL

There is at present an ample supply of candidates to fill vacancies in the Royal Marine Police Force. As long as that condition obtains, the Admiralty prefer to keep the force as a homogeneous one composed entirely of Marine pensioners. My hon. Friend's suggestion will be borne in mind in the event of any lack of suitable Royal Marine candidates.
