HC Deb 16 November 1931 vol 259 c498
43. Mr. TURTON

asked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the need for national and local economy, he will defer the quinquennial revaluation due in 1934, under the provisions of the Rating and Valuation Act, 1925, for a period of five years, and introduce a measure amending the Rating and Valuation Act, 1925, to that effect?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of HEALTH (Mr. Ernest Brown)

My right hon. Friend understands that the question raised by my hon. Friend is under consideration by the Central Valuation Committee, which is a statutory body representing all classes of local authorities concerned. My right hon. Friend hopes shortly to be advised of the Committee's conclusions and will then give the whole matter careful consideration.
