§ The PRIME MINISTERThat is no part of the office of the Lord Privy Seal. The office is a sinecure, and, as in the case of every sinecure, the Minister is 503 used for special work, sometimes in connection with the unemployed, sometimes on other things.

§ Mr. McENTEEIs it good policy and economic policy to pay a salary for what the Prime Minister has just described as a sinecure?
§ The PRIME MINISTERI want to be quite clear about that. I said it was a sinecure as an office but the holder of the office has always plenty of work of a special character assigned to him.
§ Mr. BATEYOn a point of Order. Seeing that the Prime Minister was allowed to answer that supplementary question, would we not be in order in carrying the matter further?
